Daniel Aaron Ramirez
Producer/Composer/Arranger

Composer, songwriter, orchestrator, arranger
For feedback pertaining to writing or music theory please be specific with questions including time stamps or measure numbers as well as what aspect of the music you would like feedback on (harmony, melody, etc.) If your question is more general that is completely fine. Just try to be clear when sending your video or text. Audio mock ups (samples, midi) are completely fine as are live recordings. If sending sheet music please use PDF if possible. Do not feel limited when requesting feedback. Feel free to reach out with any questions at all including everything from career advice, performance, songwriting, how to make a record, music theory, orchestration, arranging, conducting, stage presence, audition advice, or any other aspect of the music business. Music is such a vulnerable activity and I completely understand that we all sound better with some touch ups but this is a safe space for us to grow and improve.
Performance feedback (vocal, instrumental, ensemble/band)
For feedback pertaining to performance, whether individually or as a group, make sure the audio/visual recording is clear. Only send mixed recordings (reverb, EQ, etc.) if it is what you will be presenting i.e. an album. Otherwise, clean recordings with a quiet background and no editing is best. When sending feedback requests, please specify if you would prefer to focus on a specific aspect of the performance or if you would like a more general survey. If more general, please try to narrow it down to an area.

About
Described by the New York Times as “magically atmospheric” and a “vivid capsule of self-expression, often at impressive levels of accomplishment,” his compositions blend the intricacy of art music with the natural flow of jazz and folk music into a seamless whole.
Daniel creates music with a breadth and scope that reflects his unique and distinctive experiences as a Mexican-American composer. Born in El Paso, Texas, Daniel studied composition, conducting, and jazz trumpet at Mannes Conservatory, New School University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. Over the last two decades, he has distinguished himself by engaging in diverse musical idioms.
Daniel’s work in the theatre includes being music director of multiple off-Broadway productions at St. Annes Warehouse and The Kitchen and the famed Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU. He toured Japan several times with Japanese icon Senri Oe as music director, conductor, and arranger.
Daniel’s arrangements for Sting, Plácido Domingo, and Orpheus Chamber Ensemble are a few examples of the sweeping range of his musical vision. His music has been featured at the River to River Festival, Savannah Music Festival, Tokyo Jazz Festival and performed by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and Tokyo Philharmonic. He will be collaborating with the Fresh Squeezed Opera Company in the Summer of 2022, and his album Octubre is set to be released in the Fall of 2023. Daniel is currently completing his first opera, The Tragedy of La Llorona.
